First Forest Funerals represents a new generation of thinking in the funeral industry. First Forest is a concept focusing more on the celebration of a life than the tragedy of a death. None of us escape the heartache of losing a loved one but at First Forest, we remain grateful for what has been shared with our loved ones, and we honour and give thanks for that gift.
This life, once given, continues forever in some form – if only in our memories. Thus our loved ones do not die into ‘nothing’ but rather death truly does become a transition. We symbolise this transition in the motif of the FOREST. In the Forest of Life, all is safe and at rest. The over-arching branches speak of the unity and bond we have with those who have gone before us. We remain in their shadow. The beauty and power of Nature offers us hope.
The concept of FIRST revisits the Genesis motif. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes ... so moves the Circle of Life. But life once given, is given forever - if only in our memories.
